Who: The attendees of Pubcon

What: The 2008 Purpose Inc. Poker Tournament

Where: The Venetian Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas Nevada

When: November 13th, 2008 at 9:00 P.M.

Why: To raise money for charities (the charity part is pending approval from Nevada Gaming, but I am told will be a go in a few days). It is also for people in our industry to connect and have fun!

Sponsors: We would love you to help out with our costs, and expose the best and the brightest to your name and product at the most loved networking event of the year!

The 2008 Purpose Inc. Poker Tournament at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas which will take place on Thursday, November 13th, the last night of Pubcon.

This tournament takes place each year at the beginning of the holiday season, and allows the players an opportunity to come together as a group and focus on helping others while still having fun!

Sponsors will be considered based on their product, as well as their reputation in the industry.

The tournament will raise money for the charity of Randy Couture, the 5 x Heavy Weight Champion of the World in UFC, Mixed Martial Arts, who will be defending his title the Saturday the day after Pubcon.

The charity raises money for disabled veterans to lead bigger, better and more fulfilling lives. Although personally I am not a huge fan of war, I am a huge fan of the charity because as an American I feel it is my responsibility to help with the injuries of our military. Money from this charity has gone to help with medical bills and such things as running legs for military guys who lost theirs during blasts from road side bombs in Iraq.

I am doing this event whether I get paid anything or not, as it is an opportunity for the guys and gals of Pubcon to come together for fun and to help a worthwhile charity. I have become friends with Randy Coutures family, trainer and fighters and many of them will probably be either playing or hanging out at our tournament. No promises as to whether Randy Couture, the world champ, will be there or not, as two days later, he will be fighting the fight of his life to defend his title

One of our website building sponsors who encouraged me not to list his generous donation to Heaven Can Wait, kicked in a large check to also go to a charity I love in the area, Heaven Can wait. They basically keep puppies and kitties from being killed. They do this mostly by giving vasectomies and tube ties to kittys and puppies. They hold some mad records for most in a day! The idea for the poker tournament was born because at my first time at Pubcon, there were over 2,000 people, and by the end of the weekend, I had met very few of them. I realized an event was needed that got people together outside of the conference, where all Pubcon attendees were invited, and there was none of the pretentiousness of invite only private parties.

Last year the Poker Tournament rapidly became the most talked about event in the Internet business world, the t-shirts of the event became the most coveted schwag, and when Jeremy (Shoemoney) Schoemaker won second place the tournament took on the quality of a mythical legend.

There will be 100 seats available for players, and I am hoping to be able to open up another 100. Last year we had around 100 play and most people last year did not even know it was going to take place. Over the past year there has been a ton of buzz and anticipation, and I predict the event will sell out quickly. The Venetian hotel has asked my permission to allow the media to be there this year, so there is the possibility that we will even get coverage from outside of our industry.

One of the most complimented parts of the tournament last year, was the graphic which appeared on numerous websites, and also on our t-shirts and decks of playing cards which were handed out to some of the Internet rock stars and disappeared very quickly.

This years graphic is being created as I write this by Dean Yeagle, one of Playboy magazines cartoonists, who will be taking one of his most beloved characters and making a provocative, fun, and classy cartoon with her for use on the objects associated with the tournament.

The graphic will be available for use on the t-shirts, blogs, card decks of which we will be making enough for each of the players to take home, and of course for use by the sponsors on their sites.

It will be using Dean’s famous skirt lift brunette character in a poker image made specially for our tournament!

I have been working with Dean on creative ways to incorporate the logos of our sponsors into the graphic. That way the names of the sponsors do not disappear into a blur of squares of advertisement, but instead become a focal point of the art itself where they will be studied and looked at for years to come.

Last year, we incorporated the sponsors names and logos into playing cards, and may use that same technique again this year.

I strongly believe in creating art, instead of blatant in your face advertising which we have all learned to ignore. I also create fun events in this industry like the Poker Game and my ThinkTank where people can make real friends, and real connections, which is where the real value in conventions and conferences lies.

The few sponsors that we will have for this event will be noticed by the players, many of who are the leaders in the industry. They will also be viewed by probably over a million viewers on the blogs of the players of the tournament who blog about it. The t-shirts will be seen and loved by thousands at the conventions and other Internet events over the next year and into the future.

The sponsors may appear, depending on what is agreed, and if the sponsorship is set up in time in the following places:
1. - Incorporated as part of the art of the graphic of the tournament on the T-Shirts.
2. - The backs of the decks of playing cards distributed to the players as keepsakes of the tournament. (Which I am sure will be used again and again)
3. - On an easel by the bar at the tournament indicating that the sponsor is the provider of the drinks.
4. - On an easel by the food at the tournament indicating that the sponsor is the provider of the snacks.

5. - On easels around the tournament indicating who made the poker tournament possible.

6. - Possibility of the name of the sponsor on diamond winners bracelet.

7. - Option of models wearing the t-shirts of the sponsor walking around meeting, checking on, and being photographed with the players.

8. - Option of having professional mixed martial arts fighters wearing the t-shirt of the sponsor during the poker tournament.
