Underground Contest

Written by / Posted in internet events / 35 Comments

Last year Shoemoney introduced me for the first time to Yanik Silver. The introduction was something like, “This guy has this killer conference in Washington that is a lot like the Elite Retreat and thinktank, has an ultra elite conference where they did that 0G thing in the airplanes, and he knows Charles Branson. I was like, cool.

I got to do a little work with Yanik, and got to study who he was and what he was doing.

Some bad ass stuff.

In fact when I first called him, he said, “Look I am about to do this 7 day dune buggy in the dessert thing, are you available to join us?”

Very cool first impression.

So Shoemoney ended up doing the Underground Conference, Yaniks annual event, and told me how amazing the event was, great speakers, totally different world than the Pubcon, Adtech, Affiliate Summit world, and on and on. Pretty high praise.

So long story short, the reason I am writing this is that Yanik has taken parts of the Underground Conference, and put them online. He also has a contest going on, very easy to enter with a comment on his Underground Conference blog about what you got out of the video excerpts that he posted. (good stuff). If you win the contest, you basically win the entire $3,000 conference, because you get access to ALL of the multi day event on DVD.

I think I would be stupid if I passed that up.

That aside, I am pretty sure that if I knew more people who had dunebuggies ANYWHERE in their introductory conversation with me, I would have a lot more friends.

This seems like a great opportunity to gain some knowledge. The incentive is exciting and the contest is a great idea. However, this blog post is not very clear, I feel like I jumped in the middle of a conversation I don’t understand.

Yanik sounds like a awesome guy who really likes to impress his guests. The conference sounds a lot more fun in person than having it on DVD, but experiencing it on DVD sounds like the next best thing to being there.

thats really cool. your shoemoney guy sounds really impressive. is that contest still going on?

0G sounds awsome!! i was at the mall the other day and i saw this tank that allowed you to experience 7 0 mph winds. i know its no 0G tank but, it came to mind. maybe you could try it at one of your conferences, if you can get your hands on the 0G device. Just saying.

I first heard about a lot of top internet marketers thru Yanik. I heard about Eben Pagan thru him, but have never been to a conference. Someday I want to go. Dream it, achieve it, believe it.

So many people swear on validity of these conferences…maybe that’s why I can’t make any money on the net. I should probably learn from people that have been working on the net for year. But I’d like to see their credentials first, to really get to know how successful they have been in the past. Yet, I am really less skeptical now after reading all this user comments. Anyone know of any place that has detailed reviews of these programs?

I love these contests that have been going on. Especially when it involves thinking. @TawnysSlave: true fact. Even more incentive to go to conferences I guess. Look how many of them dk goes to, and now he’s hosting his own too. So much to learn in the conference world.
